Hoot the Owl

Hoot is a happy owl that lives in the hallow in a tree;

He is active at dusk and hangs out in a parliament of three.

Early in the morning he will preen and clean;

Then he will roost during the day high up where he’s unlikely to be seen.

When he is interested he will wobble and bobble his heard around;

When he is angry he will fluff up spread his wings and put his head down.

He makes a hooting sound especially when looking for a mate;

He will clap his wings in flight just before he goes on a date.

He is a bird of prey and his favorite food is the snake;

Sometime mobs of smaller birds will harass him and force him to relocate.

He has directional hearing, great eyes, and silent flight;

All this together makes hunting easy even at night.

He will silently sore low to the ground until he spots some meat;

Then swoops down spreading his four talons to grab his treat.

Hoot is a happy owl that lives in the hallow in a tree;

He enjoys nature, life, and the fact that he’s free.
